Ministries For The Entire Family
The goal of Explore is to partner with the parents to help their children explore more about the Bible and who God is. We are here to exemplify a godly character and encourage the kids to live a God-honoring life, both at church and in their home lives. Our dedicated team of leaders is here to provide a fun and caring atmosphere where the kids can explore more about God through age-appropriate stories, exciting games, and an interactive service! We meet every Sunday Morning at 10 am however, you can drop your child off 15 minutes prior to service, and we are open for kids ages 4 through 6th grade.
Matthew 19:14 "Jesus said, 'Let all the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"
On Wednesday nights, from 6:30-7:30, we also have a program for the kids!
The goal of Discover is to help the younger ones to discover the basics of the Bible and God. We are here to provide a loving environment for those little ones who are still discovering who they are and teaching them what it means to have a godly character and how to live like that. We do this through age-appropriate stories, games, and activities. We meet on Sundays at 10 am, however, you can drop your child off 15 minutes prior to service, and we are open for kids ages 10 months up to 4 years old.
Matthew 19:14 "Jesus said, 'Let all the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"
On Wednesday nights, from 6:30-7:30, we have a program for them as well!
When we moved to Texas we knew as soon as we could we wanted to find a church that fit us. We had attended church for 6 years before our move and we hoped to find a place just right for all of us. We tried out a few churches and started to lose hope of finding a place we felt like we belong. My daughter Kamilla came home from school telling me how she and her friend were talking about church and how we haven't found the right fit for us. Well, she invited us to attend her church, Hewitt Community Church and that's where our story truly begins.
Here, you're not just another person who comes and goes. From our first day attending we felt more welcome than we ever did before. They took us in like we were family they just hadn't seen in a while. You can truly see and feel the love everyone has for one another. You see the realness of people, too. In some way you fit in with people there because everybody is a real person and goes through this life doing a lot of the same things. You truly get an authentic relationship with everyone, Pastor Ken and his Pastoral staff included.
My family and I experience the living, personal, life changing God every time we come.
- Ashley, Kami, Callen & Weston S.
“We made Hewitt Community our church home because that’s exactly what it feels like. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave everyone is so welcoming & kind. They’re the “in your business” kind that makes you feel loved and seen.
The pastoral staff is exceptional in all they do & Pastor Ken teaches so well. You’re always learning something new & in depth with the way he teaches from & breaks down the Bible.
We love the relationships we have built & our church family. We can’t thank God enough for this church & the people we love dearly.”
-- Jordan, Stephanie, & Judah M.
Alive Student Ministries is a group of students from 7th to 12th grade who are led to follow what Jesus said are the two greatest commandments: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).
This is done by first helping the students start a relationship with Jesus, then studying the word of God to discover what his truths are and adopting those truths to make them our own. Students will be given opportunities to grow in their relationship with God through camps, fellowship events, Bible study meetings geared to their age range, and opportunities to love their neighbors by going out and serving their community.
Our name (Alive Student Ministries) is based on Ephesians 2:4-5 where Paul reminds the church in Ephesus that we are not walking around spiritually dead. Rather, through Christ, we are made alive in Him!
Alive Student Ministries meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm during the school year (August to May). On top of that, Alive Student Ministries will meet twice a month to fellowship and dive even more into God’s word.
Connect Groups
Connect is an essential piece in growing the community of Hewitt Community Church. Connect is an opportunity to build relationships while diving deeper into God's word in a small group setting. At Connect, you will find support through fostering relationships in small groups and deepen your understanding of God's word through studying scripture in community. Connect meets weekly/monthly on different days and times.

Worship
As the worship team at Hewitt Community Church, our goal is to glorify God by worshiping Him and by leading the church into an awareness and enjoyment of God's presence, so that we can respond in all ways biblical to who He is and what He has done (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Worship is expressed by what we say, sing and the way we live. (Psalm 34:3). We are deeply committed to the worship of Jesus Christ and in leading others to full participation. We give our gifts, our time, and our energy towards helping each other become fully-devoted followers of Christ through worship. We represent more than musicians and performers. We represent individual lives of worship coming together to celebrate the greatness of our God.
Grace Women's Ministry
Grace Women’s Ministry at Hewitt Community Church is for every woman who walks through the doors of HCC. Mothers, Wives, Daughters, Sisters, Widows, and Single Women all come together to grow in Christ and to serve one another and our community (Proverbs 27:17).
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.” Titus 2:11-12
When everything seems pretty out of control in our world today this verse seems apropos. We are called to be separate and different from non-Christians in a world that tells us to accept things that go against what the Holy Bible says. Living that “upright and godly” life is not always easy. But by leaning on one another, we support and encourage each other to live the upright and godly life to which we are called.
The Women of HCC come together to participate in Bible studies, fundraising for nonprofits, outreach opportunities in the greater Waco community, luncheons, movie nights, and more!
Whether you are new to HCC or are already a member, we encourage you to join us for one of our Christ centered events. Join us for some sweet fellowship and in service to others (Galatians 5:13).

We bring our single women together through fun activities each month and unite to provide needs for those less fortunate than ourselves. Viewing a new movie, taking a day trip to a neighboring Texas town, taking a painting class, fellowship at a restaurant, or checking out local events is more enjoyable when you can go with a friend! This year we are supporting Compassion Waco by donating white products.
