What do you want for Christmas?

Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
We have officially entered the time of year whereby we will be asking our loved ones (and they will be asking us), “What do you want for Christmas?”
It all depends upon who’s doing the asking. If it’s your great-grandmother who lives on Social Security, you’re probably going to tell her that you don’t want a single thing. But if its Warren Buffet or Elon Musk, then I’ll bet you could think of something!
The point is this: Whenever asking for something from someone, we usually ask in proportion to what we already know they can deliver. This explains why I wouldn’t ask my great-grandmother for a brand-new Ford pickup (King Ranch package), but I’d have absolutely no problem asking “Uncle Warren” or “Cousin Elon” for one!
What are you asking God for today? Ephesians 3:20 says He is able to do more than “all we ask.” That expression has two applications. First, it means that nothing is too big for God. It is impossible to ask Him for something He cannot deliver. Secondly, it means that nothing is too small for God. There is no detail too trivial or too unimportant that you can’t ask Him for that as well. You can ask God for the big things and you can ask Him for the little things – and in either case, He’s able to deliver far more than you expected! So, go ahead and ask.
