Praise on Praise

At kids camp this year, one of the songs we sang during worship time was called “Praise on Praise.” The first verse goes like this:
“Praise on praise on praise on praise on praise on praise
All that is within me now bless His name
Got a million reasons I can celebrate
My God is great, my God is great.”
In the NIV Bible, the word “praise” is found 340 times throughout the Old and New Testament. But what is praise? Praise, in regard to the Bible, generally refers to worshiping, honoring, glorifying, blessing, thanking and exalting God through words, songs, prayers or actions.
Psalm 91:1-4 (NIV)
“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what you have done.”
It is good to praise the Lord! This week, I encourage you to remember to praise the Lord in your highs and your lows and to fill the heavens with your “praise on praise”.
